3 important game modes in Eredan Arena are Unranked, Ranked, and Survival games. Each game mode offers different rewards and challenge
Unranked / Normal[]
This is a normal match, marked by the "Play" button in the "Training" Tab at the top of the Card Page. In normal matches, you'll need 5 heroes (no matter what level your heroes are) to play. You'll not gain rank points in unranked matches. Information on rank points will be explained in the Ranked Game section. Playing normal matches will give you 1 random chest reward and EXP (15 for each win, 5 for each loss) and consume 1 key.
Because of the variety of hero level introduced in unranked matches, the system will also select the opponent who is as strong as you. For example, a player with 5 level 3 heroes will always meet with opponent with 5 level 3 heroes. Meanwhile, a player with, for example, 3 level 3 heroes and 2 level 2 heroes can meet with more variety of opponents such as 4 level 3 heroes and 1 level 2 hero, or all level 2 heroes. This is to avoid imbalances between decks and meeting opponent with overly strong heroes.
You can also play matches without keys. Doing so will not give you chest rewards (only EXP)
Ranked / League[]
The ranked games are matches that can be played under the "League" button, named "Fight." In ranked games, you have to use 5 Level 3 heroes. You'll get rewards from normal matches plus rank points. Rank points determine what league you will enter. Leagues in Eredan Arena starts every 20 days (1 season). In the last day of league, each player in the league gets a reward respective to their league. After that, players are set lower in their league and have to play ranked matches again to get more rank points. To see your rank points, just look above the button, or below your rank emblem.
There are 5 different type of leagues:
- Unrankedleague. Requires 0-999 rank points, split up into 10 Levels.
- Bronze league. Requires 1000+ rank points. 100 fee'z reward.
- Silver league. Require 1250+ rank points. 150 fee'z reward.
- Gold league. Require 1400+ rank points. 200 fee'z reward.
- Champion league. Require 1500+ rank points. 300 fee'z reward.
- Master league. Requires Top 100 in rank points. 400 fee's reward.
For new players who have just started playing league matches, you have to start at zero and climb your way into "Bronze" at 1000 rank points. For players who were removed from league after season (20 days) ends, your initial rank points follow your league. Example: if your last rank point is 1445 (Gold), then your initial point is rounded down to 1400. You have to play 5 ranked matches (until the key runs out) and then the system will decide which league you belong to.
After you were put in a league, you can increase your rank points and even transfer to higher league (which means greater rewards) by winning ranked matches. Be careful that you can also be transferred to lower leagues if you keep losing (wins give you rank points, lose decrease your rank points. The amount is a bit random and depends on the opponent)
Advantages of league matches are:
- You can find out about meta cards. Meta cards are heroes which most people use in their decks. They are cards (ex or normal) which are a bit stronger than your average heroes. Meta cards also dominate nearly 80% of the decks people use in silver and higher leagues. Example of current metas are Saethwir, Ogmor, Jon, Great Duke, Netjhim, etc.
- You can research about different strategies veteran players use in fighting matches
- One way to earn fee'z (premium currency) and Ex cards aside from donating
- Test your skills with Eredan Arena veteran players
Same with unranked matches (consumes 1 key), playing without keys will only give you EXP and rank points
Survival[]
Survival matches are a bit different from ranked/unranked matches. Survival match can be played under "Survival" button. When joining survival match, you will be given 2 random Level 3 cards. You have to pick 1 to be inserted to your survival deck. You have to do this 5 times until you get a full deck. Once your deck is set, the system will reveal the survival rewards. In survival matches, you don't need keys to fight and every 3 wins in survival match will give you rewards. The rewards can be accessed from the survival window.
Be careful that you are also given 3 lives. if you lose all 3 lives (lose 3 matches), you won't be able to continue playing in survival and have to wait 3 days to play again. Survival reward is reset every 7 days, which means you have 3 chances (3 random deck combinations, 9 lives). You can always pay 99 fee'z to skip the waiting time and play right away. To complete the survival season, you have to win 30 fights before the survival season ends. The rewards of survival match can be seen below:
- 3 wins = Lv 1 colossus hero
- 6 wins = 1 standard card pack
- 9 wins = 1 extra card pack
- 12 wins = Lv 2 colossus hero
- 15 wins = 1 ultimate card pack
- 18 wins = 1 extra card pack
- 21 wins = 1 extra card pack
- 24 wins = 1 utlimate card pack
- 27 wins = 1 extra card pack
- 30 wins = lv 3 colossus hero
Information about card packs can be seen here.
Advantages of playing in survival match:
- Fun and challenging game mode. Lets you know about previous Ex heroes or other heroes that you haven't got or met yet
- One way of getting colossus heroes (marked with "Sv" tag). Colossus heroes are dragon-like heroes who have higher initial strength than normal cards.
- In survival, luck and skills are the ones that determine how far you can go. As deck heroes are chosen randomly, even a newbie could easily defeat a veteran in survival
- One way to get ultimate and extra card packs which are only buyable by fee'z. You'll need to win at least 9 fights to get 1 extra card pack
Winning or losing in survival fights won't give you any chest rewards, EXP, nor rank points, as it does not consume keys.
Further Information[]
- In ranked matches, there's a small possibility of meeting opponent playing unranked matches and vice versa.
- If you are disconnected or rage quit from any matches, it counts as a loss. In ranked matches means you'll lose rank points and in survival, you'll lose 1 life. A disconnected/rage-quitted match won't consume your key, thus you won't get any chest rewards
- Unranked match can be used to test new heroes, many different deck combinations, and play styles, and of course, playing without the risk of getting or losing rank points
- Your league is shown by a league badge under your nickname and is visible to opponent during fights
- In survival, there's also a very small possibilty of meeting opponents playing in ranked/unranked matches (of course, opponents with 5 Level 3 heroes only)
- Survival decks will always have you choose from among 3 pairs of normal heroes, and 2 pairs of Ex heroes
- One exception is Ateb Ex, who can be placed in a selection with a normal hero. This is due to the fact that he is one of the weakest cards in the game, even more than normal cards, that was released for Beta players and has not been improved on for 2 years.
